neuFund Manager Screen Shots

This page shows some screen shots taken directly from the operational program. Although still screens don't accurately portray the ease-of-use, they can give an indication of the flexibility of the program, in both the display and operation. Note for each screen the varying styles, colors, and graphics. These are all customized by user. Note also both the detail and scarcity of information contained on each screen. That level of detail is also controlled by user. Finally, and believe it or not, Fund Management can be quite fun – when using the neuFund Manager.

Security is paramount, but not obtrusive in neuFund Manager. Roll-based security, using either Windows Authentication or per-user authentication, limits visibility of internal data to those with controlled access. In addition, the ability to issue transactions (i.e. the buying and selling of stocks/funds, dividends, etc.) is tightly controlled. In fact, transactions don’t even occur at the browser application, but in a secure middle-tier business layer.

neuFund Manager looks different because it is different. Regardless of the detail or drill-down level displayed, however, views may be minimized, hidden, or summarized to fit any viewing requirement.

Configuration of Funds, Symbols, Members and associated definitions are all performed within the neuFund Browser. Configuration is accomplished via simple Drag & Drop, from common menus, or programmatically (within any standard language or office application such as MS Excel). The system security protects unauthorized alteration of data, or deletion of configuration information if transactions are present or pending.

With the understanding that charts are not toys, but valuable representations of important information, presentation quality, 3D, flexible and configurable charts and graphs are a hallmark of neuFund Manager.  Given the ability to design charts at the click of a mouse, displays can range from a simple B&W Line Graph of historical prices, to a rotated, rendered 3-dimentional view of trends, oscillations and averages. Base charts are included for Funds, Symbols and Members, each of which may be infinitely customized.

Standard data entry is controlled via a middle-tier component called Common Dialogs. There is a common dialog screen for each data entry operation. This allows for easy and secure customization if needed. Furthermore, all screens may be “Skinned” for a common look and feel. Included are over 30 different skinning options and border colors. As with all operations, dialogs may be docked, undocked, hidden, and sized as needed.

Some Management software give a nice ticker to display symbols as they change throughout the day. neuFund Manager provides as many symbol tickers as you can comfortably fit on your screen. Each ticker has variable scrolling speeds, symbol and background colors, and font selection and sizes. Tickers may be populated with symbols from Funds, Symbol Groups, or individually via a simple Drag & Drop operation. All trading values are updated by whatever interval you set, from seconds to days. In addition, each ticker may be “undocked” as a floating window, sized, or hidden from view – as needed.

Regardless of how comprehensive a Management Solution is, it is worthless if information can’t be accessed and presented effectively. neuFund Manager’s reports are both flexible and comprehensive in order to present management data when and where it is needed most. Using MS Reporting Services, reports can be viewed on-screen, printed, exported to PDF or MS Excel, or even e-mailed. Standard reports include Fund Details, Summaries, Transactions, History, Symbol Overviews, Member Details by Period, Member Transaction/Cost Bases Summaries, among many others. In addition, each report may contain Custom Headers and Footers which may be customized with text and/or Graphics for marketing and product branding purposes. Reports aren’t static either. All reports may be altered, amended, and changed using MS Business Object Development Studio.

Much of the information collected and maintained by neuFund Manager is derived from transactions. This allows cumulative summary data to persist across a broad range of selected time periods. In the Fund Entry dialog, for example, Cash-on-Hand, Membership Percentages, Symbol Ownership w/Cost Basis and real-time value, Transaction Histories for Symbols, Members, and specific Fund are all calculated and displayed in real-time. As changes take place throughout the day in symbol pricing, member ownership, etc., the current display updates accordingly. Most of these calculations do not require a “round-trip” to the DB, for most controls are self-contained and event-aware (only receiving update events for the data being viewed.)

neuFund Manager Solution Suite is not a stand-alone program. Technically defined as an n-Tier application, components of the system communicate with each other and events are synchronized and updated remotely. This is transparent to the user, but allows simultaneous editing, a single update point for data, and efficient message handling in order to keep information current and accurate. Multiple operators may be viewing the same Fund information, and each will update in real-time as edits are made by anyone else in the system. This applies to Symbols, Members and configuration information as well.

What one Fund manager deems important, another might find extraneous. It’s difficult to predict what specific piece of information will be desired or found most pertinent. neuFund Manager does not try to second guess the experience of Fund Managers, but enables them to determine what information regarding Symbols (including stocks, bonds, indexes, FOREX, other Funds, etc.) , Members or their own Fund, are most important. Key Performance Indicators within neuFund Manger give that flexibility. KPIs are user-defined data based on calculations of symbols, groups of symbols, or a combination of symbols/symbol groups and funds. Given the scope of the information, a wizard guides the creation of the KPIs to further define the derivation of the KPI (prices, indexes, averages, group fluctuations, combined oscillations, etc.) Once defined, a KPI can be associated with a single Symbol (stock), all symbols within a defined group, a fund, or all symbols within a fund. Finally thresholds may be assigned, whereby if triggered, creates an ALERT for that symbol, symbol group, or fund. The degree of customization and control of derived data is unprecedented in Portfolio or Fund Management.

The primary responsibility of the Fund Manger is to insure the stability and growth of their fund: secondarily, to protect the contracted participants, shareholders, and members. neuFund Manager, although flexible, ‘colorful’, and technologically advanced, was written to make those responsibilities easier, more secure, and successful. If you’re unsatisfied with off-the-shelf programs, in-house failures, or you’re still trying to get the Excel spreadsheet ‘just right’, consider using neuFund Manager within your organization.
